The 12 highly  competitive projects (SMEs) of NEMo 2nd OPen Call have competed and evaluated in the context of the OC#2 DESIGN phase. NEMO announces Open Call #2, which aims to validate user acceptance and boost NEMO massive adoption and sustainability. NEMO is delighted to announce the Open Call #2 winning proposals which are listed below.

• CERES: An AI-driven Decision Support System (DSS) for farm optimization, including an Environmental Digital Twin, IoT & Earth Observation integration based on Farming Intelligence System of Systems (FISS) concept.

• DistributedRFGuard: A cutting-edge, scalable RF anomaly detection and monitoring system Designed to enhance security, efficiency, and sustainability in RF communication.

• EdgeMind: System collects biometric data from the smartwatch, processes it locally on the Android app using a small LLM, stores it securely in a web backend, and utilizes a larger LLM to generate personalized fitness plans.

• NEMOHOSP: A set of web applications providing predictive maintenance and healthcare KPI monitoring.

• NINEMO: A transformative solution to address critical challenges in modern agriculture, particularly in pest detection and management.

• ORTHOTIC: A sensor Integrated 3D printing splint-boot with AIoT connectivity for Advancing Human-Activity Recognition and surveillance through Convolutional Neural Network and VR-Based Digital Twin.

• PINO: Edge AIoT microservices enabling real-time predictive maintenance and diagnosis for diverse industrial configurations.

• Smart4Game: Applications capitalizing on wearable sensors and advanced edge-based AI extending ordinary fitness and athletes training.

• SMILE: A transformative, highly configurable platform for customizing and deploying AI-driven solutions tailored for energy optimization, and real-time anomaly detection.

• SPMS: A Smart Predictive Maintenance System which leverages ML and automates model creation and tunning with AutoML.

• TACTIGON: An open-source meta operating system AI-driven platform enabling real-time decision-making, process optimization, and seamless human-robot collaboration.

• TrafNET: Project aims to integrate AI-powered multi-sensor
  systems for advanced traffic monitoring and management.

NEMO announces Open Call #2, which aims to validate user acceptance and boost NEMO massive adoption and sustainability. NEMO Open Call #2 invites EU based SMEs to extend the NEMO use cases by porting their new or existing applications and services into the NEMO meta-OS, in the verticals of the NEMO Living Labs. The proposed applications should leverage NEMO capabilities and demonstrate the meta-OS potential in satisfying high-demanding requirements, including (but not limited to):

• High device heterogeneity, including low-capable IoT devices

• On-device machine learning

• Low latency & high bandwidth

• Increased energy efficiency and reduced energy footprint of IT operations

• Sustainable IT investments through data, resource and/or service monetization

The open call will have three phases:

1. DESIGN (2 months duration) allowing the applicant to fine-tune their application concept.
2. EXPERIMENT (6 months duration) allowing the applicant to develop the proposed meta-OS application providing an MVP.
3. GROWTH (1 month duration) allowing the applicant to promote and exploit their project, aiming to engage new customers and/or partners and/or investors.

The total amount of funding that each SME will receive is up to €90,000, while the total funding that will be provided is €900,000.

SMEs with experience in and targeting applications and services involving IoT systems and/or edge/cloud computing.

Up to €90,000 funding per selected application.

• MetaFOX, by Vodéna, Serbia which will work on Machine Learning and AI technologies
• CorMOS, by Business & IoT Integrated Solutions ltd, Cyprus which focus relates to cross-domain orchestration of Meta-OS edge resources.
• ARGO, by Intellia ICT, Greece, which will focus on AR/XR technologies
• Eros4NRG, by Martel Innovate BV, Netherlands which will offer Zero Trust IoT Analytics with focus on Smart Energy applications..
• GENESYS, by SWHARD srl, Italy which will provide Edge Gateway for NEMO Meta-OS.
• MARINEMO, by BEAM Innovation, Romania which will work on Efficient Resource Utilization and Maritime Network Slicing Plugin for NEMO Meta-OS

NEMO announces Open Call #1, which aims to extend NEMO scope and technology. NEMO Open Call #1 invites EU based SMEs active in edge computing, edge and/or cloud native software development, operating systems, IoT/5G networks and IoT manufacturing entities to implement innovative core metaOS components and plugins to support new functionality and new services and validate the NEMO components, in particular by offering:

• NEMO meta-architecture extensions
• software components/plugins not covered by current NEMO implementation plan
• new network or service/resources metering/automated control components or
• porting NEMO on new, highly heterogeneous IoT devices.

The total amount of funding that each SME will receive may reach up to €150,000, while the total funding that may be provided is €900,000.

SMEs active in edge computing, edge and/or cloud native software development, operating systems, IoT/5G networks and IoT manufacturing entities.

Up to €150,000 funding per selected application.
